looking for a talented and experienced Tax Management Specialis

The Finance Department of the Government of Sindh is looking for a talented and experienced Tax Management Specialist to join their Tax Reform Unit on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the tax policy and administration of Sindh province in Pakistan.

The Opportunity:

As the Tax Management Specialist, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Conducting research and analysis to support tax policy and administration decision-making.
  • Coordinating with tax collection agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders on tax policy issues.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve tax revenue collection.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Sindh Tax Revenue Mobilization Plan (STRMP).
  • Advising the Finance Department on ways to improve tax policy and statistics.

Who They Are Looking For:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant subject (economics, finance, public policy, etc.) with 12 years of experience in tax administration.
  • OR a Ph.D. in Economics/Finance/Public Policy/Tax/Business Administration (with a focus on tax planning/policy and administration) with 8 years of experience in economic research (tax revenue modeling and forecasting).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and statistical software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the tax policy and regulatory system in Sindh province.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral).
  • Age: Preferably less than 63 years old.

The Contract:

  • The initial contract term is for two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension based on performance.
  • You will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with the MP-I Scale of the Sindh Management Position Scales Policy.
