The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is seeking a qualified and experienced lawyer to fill the critical position of Deputy Director (Law) on a contract basis. This is an exciting chance to play a vital role in safeguarding Pakistan’s democratic processes.
The Opportunity:
As the Deputy Director (Law), you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the ECP on a wide range of election-related matters. Your duties may include:
- Drafting legal opinions and memoranda.
- Conducting legal research on election laws, constitutional law, and procedural laws.
- Representing the ECP in legal proceedings.
- Reviewing and revising election-related regulations and policies.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of legal reforms to enhance the electoral system.
- Providing training and guidance to ECP staff on legal matters.
Who They Are Looking For:
- A passionate and dedicated lawyer with a strong commitment to upholding democratic principles.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLM preferred) from a recognized university.
- At least 7 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with a minimum of 5 years of experience appearing before the High Court.
- In-depth knowledge of Constitutional Law, Election Laws, and Procedural Laws.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Contract:
- The initial contract term is for two years.
Eligibility:
- Age: Up to 35 years old (with potential for relaxation in some cases).
- Domicile: Balochistan (however, you may be posted anywhere in Pakistan).
